Must be motivated, have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and hardworking.
Must be able to perform physical labor, lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
, willing to listen and learn on the job site, ask for guidance when unsure, and maintain awareness of surroundings and personnel.
Required to efficiently perform the following day to day tasks:
Must understand and comply with all Company safety policies and procedures Willingness to acquire the certifications necessary to perform tasks applicable to a Laborer (e.
g.
10 Hour OSHA Certification) Communicate with Project Supervisors each day to ensure understanding of daily tasks May be required to perform daily and preventative maintenance on machines Work may include moving rocks, stumps, trees, roots, and other materials for the preparation of the project Clean or prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards Excavate by hand ditches or trenches, backfill excavations, or compact and level earth to grade specifications, using picks, shovels, rakes, etc.
Load, unload, or identify building materials, machinery, or tools, distributing them to the appropriate locations, according to project plans or specifications Travel from home to and from the jobsites is unpaid and required Qualifications and Education Requirements Must possess a valid Driver's License Must have reliable transportation Must have, or be willing to acquire, an OSHA certification of 10 hours Good communication skills and must be able to follow verbal instructions Two to four years of experience in construction-related positions, with an excavation company, is preferred Must be able to perform strenuous work in varying weather conditions Preferred Skills Works well with others Willingness to learn Coordination, strength, and stamina sufficient for the work to be performed Critical reasoning skills sufficient for the work to be performed Basic math and language skills Good communication skills Ability to adapt to different personalities and management styles Additional Notes We reserve the right to update this job description at any time and will expect any current hires to comply with the updated job description.
